    Gmail CRM integration

Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox and the CRM stops being something you have to feed. Messages and calendar events file themselves against the right company and contact, and the history stays with the firm when the person leaves.

    What syncs

    ObjectDirectionWhat that means
EmailTwo-wayMessages sync into the unified inbox and onto the contact and company timeline. Replies sent from Lumenbase appear in your Gmail sent folder.
CalendarTwo-wayGoogle Calendar events sync to and from Lumenbase, with attendees matched to contact records.
ContactsInto LumenbasePeople you correspond with are matched to existing records or offered as new contacts, with duplicate detection on entry.
AttachmentsInto LumenbaseFiles on synced messages are available from the record rather than only in the thread.

    Setup, in three steps

    Step 1

    Connect the mailbox

Settings, then Integrations, then Google. Sign in with the Google account and grant access. Nothing is imported until the next step.

    Step 2

    Choose what syncs

Pick the mailbox and calendars to include and set the default visibility for synced conversations. Private threads can stay private.

    Step 3

    Let the backfill run

History is imported in the background as a batch job with a progress indicator. Recent messages appear first.

The full walkthrough, including what to do when something does not connect, is in the Help Center: Gmail setup guide

Why automatic capture is the whole point

A CRM that people update by hand is out of date within a quarter, and the field that goes stale first is the one everything else depends on: when this client was last spoken to. The relationship history that matters most is the correspondence nobody would think to log, because it did not lead anywhere yet.

With the mailbox connected, that history exists whether or not anyone is being diligent. Relationship strength, quiet-client detection, and Lumo ranking all read it, which is why the connection is the first thing to do rather than a later refinement.

    Privacy and what stays out

Sync visibility is a setting, not an all-or-nothing switch. A conversation can be private to you, restricted to named people, or visible to the workspace, and there is a per-channel default so you choose the behaviour once.

Personal correspondence in the same mailbox is the usual concern. Set the default to private and promote the threads that belong to the firm, rather than the other way round.

Gmail CRM or a CRM inside Gmail

Tools like NetHunt, Streak, and Copper put the CRM inside the Gmail interface. That is convenient for editing a record mid-thread and cramped for a pipeline review, a report, or a bulk update, and it ties you to one email vendor.

Lumenbase syncs with Gmail and stays its own application. If living inside the inbox is the actual requirement, one of those is the better answer, and our comparison with NetHunt says so plainly.
