    What you can do here

    Planning is for teams who work in sprints. Where Projects gives each piece of work its own board, Planning is the view across all of them: what is in this sprint, what is queued, and what lands when.

    It reads the same items as Projects. Add a story to a project and it turns up in the backlog here; move it into a sprint here and the project board shows it too.

    Planning sits under Delivery and is not switched on for every plan. See Delivery.

    Planning opens on the Timeline. Two lanes: sprints, and epics that have a due date. Work with no dates does not appear, which keeps the timeline honest rather than padding it out.

    Run a sprint

    Create the sprint

    On Active Sprints. Give it a goal and a date range. The goal is what people read when they are deciding whether to pick something up.

    Pull work in from the backlog

    Tick the items you want, choose the sprint from the action bar, then Move to sprint. You need an open sprint before this will do anything.

    Start it

    The header then counts the day you are on out of the total, and how many days are left.

    Complete it when the window ends

    Unfinished items move back to the Backlog and finished work stays on the sprint, so the record of what actually shipped survives.

    Keep the backlog usable

    The backlog is everything not currently in a sprint, in the order you ranked it. It is worth a pass before each planning session: the top ten should be things you would start tomorrow.

    Find anything

    Issues is the flat view of every item across every project you can see: tasks, requests, bugs, ideas, stories, and epics.

    • List or board, whichever suits what you are doing.
    • Mine, all, or current sprint as the standing filters.
    • Type and status to narrow further, plus a search box over the rows.

    When something looks wrong
