What the extension does
The Lumenbase browser extension (Chrome and Brave) is a persistent bridge between the places you work — LinkedIn and video calls — and your CRM. It runs quietly while you use those sites and pipes what matters directly into Lumenbase, without manual data entry or copy-paste.
There are three capability pillars:
LinkedIn Sync
Meeting Recording
Profile Capture

LinkedIn sync and profile capture
When you're on LinkedIn, the extension scans the page for contacts already in your CRM and marks them with a small Lumenbase badge. LinkedIn direct messages are captured as they arrive and sent into your contacts' activity timelines automatically.
- Profile highlights: A colored badge and "In Lumenbase" label appear next to names of existing CRM contacts, on profile pages, search results, and messaging threads.
- Message sync: LinkedIn DMs flow into the contact's activity timeline in Lumenbase while you have a LinkedIn tab open. No separate action required.
- Subscribe to prospects: A "Subscribe" button appears next to profiles not yet in your CRM. Subscribing captures their profile data in Directory → Added Profiles.
- My Connections: Your full LinkedIn network syncs to Directory → My Connections for browsing and linking to CRM records.
Meeting recording
Open the extension popup when you're in a Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams call and the Meetings tab shows the detected meeting name and a Start Recording button. One click records tab audio and your microphone, posts a consent notice to the meeting chat, and generates a searchable transcript after you stop.
- Platforms: Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+P to pause, Alt+Shift+E to stop.
- Consent: A notice is automatically posted to the meeting chat when recording starts.
- Auto-record: Turn this on in the popup to start recording automatically when you join a calendar-linked meeting.
- After the call: Transcripts appear under Meeting Transcripts in Lumenbase and on the timelines of related contacts.
How it all flows into Lumenbase
Every LinkedIn message and meeting transcript ends up on the activity timeline of the relevant contact. A salesperson looking at a contact card sees their LinkedIn DMs alongside meeting transcript excerpts — full relationship context without switching apps.

Troubleshooting
Extension not detected
- Confirm the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions (it must not be disabled or removed).
- Use Chrome or Brave — other browsers are not supported.
- Sign out of the extension popup and sign back in.
- Reload both the LinkedIn tab and the Lumenbase tab.
LinkedIn messages not appearing
- Check that LinkedIn integration is connected: My Settings → Integrations → LinkedIn.
- Sync only runs while LinkedIn is open in a tab — it is not a background service.
- Contacts must have a LinkedIn URL in Lumenbase for messages to match to them.
Recording won't start
- Make sure you are in an active meeting, not a waiting room or lobby.
- Confirm microphone access was granted in the browser permissions dialog.
- Check that meeting capture is enabled in the popup Meetings tab settings.
